The daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter of farmers (with ancestors who traded the steep slopes of Norwegian fields for the loamy, black soil of southwest Minnesota), Deborah took her first tractor ride with her dad on an antique Allis-Chalmers at age 2 and found herself in the cab of a Case combine harvester with her maternal grandfather at 4.

While the grown-up Deborah can drive a tractor, she has watched the world of agriculture evolve dramatically over the course of the last three decades, from the simple machines she operated as a teenager to the U.S.S. Enterprise-like cabs of modern-day combine harvesters.

When she founded content marketing and strategic communications firm WWM more than 20 years ago, some of her first clients were ag media companies. And over the years, she’s garnered numerous awards as an agricultural industry journalist. That ag journalism background coupled with her long family history in commercial farming has provided Deborah a depth and breadth of understanding of today’s production challenges and opportunities rarely found in the world of advertising and marketing.

Deborah was a regular contributor to The Progressive Farmer for nearly 15 years. Since then, she’s worked for an array of clients, including OEMs, agriscience companies, ag finance institutions, and precision ag firms, AGCO, Massey Ferguson, Corteva, Farm Journal Media, and Meredith Agrimedia among them.

The founding of TILL as the farm and food division of WWM has been, for her, the unforeseen culmination of a lifetime spent on the land and in the ag newsroom...and given her the chance to be part of solving one of the biggest challenges of the modern age—feeding a global population of nearly 8 billion and growing.
